Save On Hydro is a forward-thinking company based in Ontario, launched in 2024 with a mission to help homeowners reduce their energy costs. Through cutting-edge research and innovative products, we are dedicated to providing real, measurable savings for our customers.
Our journey began with the launch of our first product, a Wi-Fi Smart Electric Water Heater Controller. This controller empowered homeowners to remotely monitor and manage their water heaters, significantly boosting energy efficiency.
In 2024, we conducted a pioneering study to calculate the energy savings this controller could generate under Ontario’s new energy charge rates, including Ultra Low Overnight (ULO) and Time of Use (TOU) pricing. Our findings demonstrated how a controller impacted overall energy costs under different pricing plans.
We’ve since expanded our research on the Time of Day rate introduced in British Columbia in April 2025.
